A friend of the Chic Celebration’s team has recently been asked to be Godmother to her friend’s baby daughter (she’s very proud and super excited!). And as you know, our motto at Chic Towers is ‘making your party personal’ so this exciting announcement led to an animated discussion about how we can to make a Christening, Communion or Naming Day really special and of course, personal.
We’ve made a lot of proud parents happy with our bespoke banners for Christenings and Naming Day ceremonies and we love it when a Yummy Mummy-to-Be who’s worn one of our Baby Shower sashes, places an order a few months later for a Christening Banner, it really makes us feel part of the family! The banners can be used to decorate the room and make great keepsakes. Whether you want it in pretty pink, baby blue, angelic white or something totally different, we’ve a great selection of colours to choose from. We’re also really proud of our Primeira Comunhá and Pierwsza Komunia Swieta banners for our Portuguese and Polish customers. Chic Celebrations has gone global!
We like to make our parties stand out from the crowd, so here are some unique ideas to make your little one’s big day even more special…
Greet guests with a photo montage
You’ve no doubt already filled up several phones and cameras with hundreds of photos of your little one, so here’s your opportunity to proudly share them with loved ones. How about displaying them in an electronic photo frame, pinning them to a board, tree or length of washing line, or if you’re feeling artistic, create a digital montage and have it printed onto canvas.
Create lasting memories
Guest books aren’t just for weddings, they can play an important part in your baby’s big day too. Ask your guests to write a message for your child to read on their 18th birthday. They will enjoy sharing their wisdom and your child will have some beautiful messages to look forward to reading in the future. An alternative is to ask guests to write messages on jigsaw pieces or Jenga blocks – a pretty original way of ‘building’ memories!
Mementoes for the Godparents
You’ve selected the Godparents to take on their mentoring role for life, so it’s important to say thank you. We love to make things personal so how about printing a quote, poem or simple thank you on to a keepsake for them. There are plenty of options to choose from. This service is something we’re looking into providing in the future so watch this space for more details and sign up to our newsletter so you can be the first to know! (insert link if possible)
Keep the kids entertained
In our experience, Christening and naming day receptions can often turn into a kids
playground. If you’ve got children then it’s highly likely your friends will bring theirs along. Consider their needs in advance and choose a venue with a playground or perhaps section off an area indoors as a designated play area. Provide some toys and games to keep them occupied and you won’t just avoid boredom and tantrums, mum and dad will get a well-earned break too!
Don’t forget the cake!
A simple one, but easy to overlook. We know so many people who’ve left ordering the cake until the last minute and ended up making a quick dash to a well-known food hall to buy Colin the Caterpillar. Give yourself plenty of time to decide on a cake design to fit with your theme, and to place your order at the bakery. Make your cake even more personal by wrapping it in a personalised printed ribbon from Chic Celebrations (of course!).
