Each year we go ‘all out’ for Mother’s Day – to show our appreciation and make her feel really special. So why don’t we always do the same for Father’s Day? It’s too easy to use the excuse ‘he’s too difficult to buy for’ and just end up buying Dad novelty socks, funny ties or even forgetting the day altogether (sorry Dad!).
At Chic Celebrations we believe in making gifts personal. We don’t just produce personalised ribbons for ladies and children, we also offer options for the man in your life too. Whether you need a length of ribbon suitable for gift wrapping, or you want to decorate ‘Dad’s Taxi’, the ‘Man Cave’ or crown him ‘King of the Grill’ at the family barbecue, we love to create bespoke products just for you and to help make your Dad feel special.
We can print any colour text, font and image design of your choosing onto any colour choice of ribbon.
So this Father’s Day, let’s make an effort to say thank you to Dad and make him feel really special.
1. Create a gift basket
Make up a gift basket or hamper containing all of Dad’s favourite things. You could theme it or include a mixture of items: food and drink; childhood memories; sporting memorabilia; handmade items or perhaps some of his favourite family photos printed and framed. The possibilities are endless. Don’t forget to dress up the basket before you give it to him, perhaps with a personalised ribbon from Chic Celebrations?
2. Take him out for the day – and pay!
We’re all too used to Dad footing the bill for days out with the family, so why not turn the tables – treat him to a special excursion and tell him to leave his wallet at home. If you don’t want to break the bank, how about a family picnic in the park followed by a mini-Olympics. If he prefers something more sedate, try a fishing trip or a canal boat ride. Tickets to his favourite sporting event or a concert are always a good option, particularly if you get to go with him!
3. Create a personalised photobook
We’ve all got hundreds of digital photos on our mobiles and other devices that rarely see the light of day. How about re-living some of those memories by creating a special personalised photobook for Dad. We love the service that Photobox provides but there are lots of other sites out there such as Snapfish, Blurb and Vistaprint which offer a similar service.
4. Plan a surprise
Is there something Dad’s always wanted to do but not quite got round to? Perhaps it’s an
experience like driving a sports car, skiing lessons, a hot air balloon ride or sky-diving. Or maybe he’d love to re-visit the town he grew up in. Tell Dad to block the day out but don’t tell him where he’s going. Make it even more memorable by setting him some clues to follow to find out what the surprise is.
5. Ask him what he wants to do
Surprises are great, but if Dad prefers to be in control of things then just ask him outright how he would like to spend his Father’s Day. And don’t take ‘Oh I’m not bothered’ as an answer. Ask him to think of what he’d really love to spend the day doing and make it happen!
6. Foodie heaven
If Dad likes a bit of a gourmet gastronomy, how about making him a special meal from scratch. Find out what his favourite dishes are and re-create them; turn the house into a five-star dining experience. Round the meal off with a home-made cake wrapped in a personalised ribbon from Chic Celebrations. If you’re not so skilled in the kitchen you could start his day off with a breakfast bonanza, or how about really splashing out on a personal chef for the day.
7. Talk to him
Maybe you don’t get to spend a lot of time with your Dad, so take the opportunity this Father’s Day to ask him about his life. Say thank you for all he’s done for you, for being ‘Dad’s Taxi’, the DIY King, decorator extraordinaire, and for being there during the tough times.
Whatever you decide to do for Dad this Father’s Day please let us know if there’s anything the Chic Celebrations team can do to help add to the uniqueness of your gift or experience, we’d love to transform your ribbon ideas into reality! So drop us a line so we can work our magic!
